In 2005 Ralf started a new project with Toyota. He signed a multi year deal and was looking forward to good results with an ambitious team.

After just missing out on the constructor’s title in 2003 BMW-Williams’ expectations for the following season were high. The blue and white team did not only want to keep up with the Ferraris, but they intended to put an end to their dominant reign in F1.

Worldchampion – how much would Ralf have enjoyed fulfilling his dream. Never had it been more feasible to achieve that goal like in 2003. He got very close to winning the crown, but various reasons kept him from actually attaining it.

The start of the 3rd season with the British-Bavarian partnership saw Ralf overflow with self-confidence. His massive shunt with Barrichello in Australia did not get his confidence level down. More tests and more work, let the team do the rest.
